The saddlebag log home is the rarest double pen log cabin to be found. It consists of 2 log pens, one on each side of a central chimney. The mass of stone in the chimney effectively heats both cabins, upstairs and down. This house is a fine example of an Appalachian Mountain home. Large enough to be reconstructed into a comfortable hand hewn log home or a 2 unit bed and breakfast.
Made from large hand-hewn oak and poplar logs. It is 1-1/2 story with half dovetail corner notch construction.
