Over the years we have helped clients design our log buildings into such treasures as guest houses, bed and breakfasts, office complexes, art studios, workshops, vacation homes, main residences, smokehouses, and even an elaborate 6,000 sq. ft. lodge home. Our inventory photos are usually taken at the time a building is uncovered; therefore, it's hard for some people to envision just what an old historic log building can actually become! That is why we created this Design Idea section, so you can see that an old run-down log structure can actually become a showplace of any size. McCrea Building
This building was designed as an office complex, using two 1800's single pen
cabins from Pulaski County, Ky. This is a good example of how to maximize
the square footage from relatively small cabins. The total finished square footage
of this buiding is approx. 2400 sq.ft. Two cabins, one approx. 900 sq. ft and the
other approx. 700 sq. ft. were joined with space in-between and lean-to's off the
back. We achieved nice, functional office space, yet retained the rustic appeal that
this client wanted.
